There are various solutions to weight loss. Each one of them has its own pros and cons. You will find the promo of these weight loss programs and campaign almost on every piece of mass media. It has become an industry in itself. Quite a few of them even border on the bizarre but people are still drawn towards it. They often go by slogans like “lose X kg in Y time, or complete refund”.

Well, to be frank, most of these plans have serious side effects which may not be apparent at that time. Some would prescribe unapproved medications without thinking about the implication, and we just abide by them thinking that it would help us. However, nothing can beat the old formula of a healthy diet and a rigorous workout routine.

Weight gain usually occurs when intake of food is more than what is required for day to day activity or sometimes due to decreased metabolism. Most of the obesity and weight gain problems show up because of the current pattern of lifestyle. No doubt it is hectic, however the physical activity involved is quite less as compared to the amount of junk food intake. Stress and lack of time is driving everyone to easier things. People end up skipping meals and later on have unhealthy junk food while working. The junk food does not provide any nutrition required by the body other than high dosage of fat and cholesterol.

Therefore, a person should include a few hours of vigorous exercise in the weekly schedule for sure. Not to mention including the goodness of yoga. If possible make it a part of your daily life. Also, give some quality time to yourself and your family. Spend time together, as often stress and weight gain go hand in hand. And, when you are doing this, make it a point that you don’t skip your whole meal.

A healthy and active lifestyle is the most important thing, but there is no shortcut to weight loss.
