Christmas chaos
Normally, I love shopping. It has been my favourite hobby (if you can call it like that!) since I was a teenager. I used to believe it was my calling to become one of those personal shoppers, who spends all their time spending the money of the rich and famous. Of course, that was only if I was not rich and famous myself! But even I draw the line at wandering round the shops in the approach to Christmas.
I still love shopping and I love the way all the stores are decorated. I even quite enjoy the Christmas CDs that seem to be stuck on a permanent loop. No, what I hate about Christmas shopping is the other shoppers. Considering that it’s supposed to be a time of peace and goodwill to all men, most women do tend to turn into complete bitches when you combine tinsel and bargains. I’d rather spend the weekend researching red diesel suppliers than spend one Saturday afternoon in December shopping for cosmetics. Yes, girls, my hatred of Christmas shopping runs very deep indeed.
Luckily for people like me, you can now do your Christmas shopping without leaving the comfort, security and quiet of your own home. Has any better use ever been found for the internet? Well, I know a few guys who might come up with an alternative suggestion, but I’m sticking with the Christmas-shopping-away-from-the-shops option… Not only can you get all your presents in one session, without getting a migraine, but a lot of sites are actually much cheaper than the High Street, especially when it comes to beauty gifts. There are some great sites which allow you to make up your own gift boxes, so you can include all the recipients' favourite products – even if they usually come from different stores. Now you don’t get that in Boots or Body Shop. No, all you get there is rising blood pressure and presents that no-one really wants!
